Excellent Stay

Lovely stay here. Self check-in was smooth, although staff were also there to help if needed. We had a double room, and it was lovely and clean and a good size. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were great, and the hotel's location was really good as well. Couldn't fault anything from our stay.

Amazing stay

Super comfy, good and simple breakfast, the lobby has couches to rest and read, things to buy and pay with self check out, and great location, near Museums, restaurants, tram station. we really enjoy our stay, had great time and definitely would recommend The Ed.

NYE visit - highly recommend

Stayed at the ed hotel for NYE, the bed was so comfy it was like sleeping on the clouds! Rooms are small but not a major issue. Shower was lovely, bathroom very nice. 24/7 snacks and anything you may need available to purchase at reception, didn’t try breakfast but drinks machine made lovely drinks, not just cheap coffee! Bar was handy, nice to have a drink after walking the streets of Amsterdam. Staff all very friendly, helpful and polite. A little way away from the centre ( dam square/redlight) but trams available and not a bad walk either.

Tax

The ed was lovely and close to everything we loved our stay until the last day we had an issue. We were charged 80 euros in tourist tax on arrival which is fine as we always pay this when travelling however on check out we were then charged another 100 euros without explanation and demanded we pay or couldn’t leave to catch our flight this was very intimidating as a young girl so I payed to go and get my flight however people we met checked out after us and we’re not charged any tax this makes me think I was targeted for looking vulnerable a few people I asked said this was not a normal procedure and I was told by the man on reception he would look into this and email me but I still had to pay then never got in touch I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else but wanted to make people aware!

Cute hotel in good location, nicely decorated and clean room

I stayed three nights in a double room and it was overall very nice. I did not get the breakfast, so I can't speak to that. Of course, the rooms are on the smaller side, but they are really cute and clean, which is the most important thing to me. I was by myself - it would have been a tight squeeze for two people to share that space, in my opinion, but it is certainly doable. The location was great for me, because the main purpose of my trip was art. It is a 10-minute walk to Museum Quarter. Also, I went running each day in Vondelpark, which is less than 1/2 mile away. The only minor complaint is that there is no ledge in the shower, so I couldn't leave my shower gel and razor anywhere but the shower floor. In my room, while there was no closet, there was rack with hangers on it, which was sufficient for me. Also, I didn't have any problems with noise inside the hotel or from outside. I would certainly stay here again.
